with warmer days upon us i'm trying to keep life simple.
slowing down .. working through some personal things.
making tea seemed a good idea.. and drawing the curtains
and shutters closed, fans on, & watering the veggies
morning and night. cool hose water is welcome over
toasty toes. towels and blankets on the line after a little
drift to the sierra where nights were mighty cool ..
then to the valley below where 100+ awaited.
we were not amused.
Such flowy shadows. Stay cool my friend and enjoy your tea.

the glass is always full
Deleteand in it is the tinkling
of ice.
We’re having relatively mild days here. Very unusual for June. We’ll see if summer continues like this. I drink gobs of unsweetened iced tea! Love your photo!

ReplyDeleteLipton .. No sugar..
DeleteCuz I'm fancy. Wink.
We are hiding from the heat behind gossamer fluffs of silky curtains. A wonderful concoction of iced tea and lemonade slates our thirst as we wait for the sun to fall, sizzling, into the Pacific Ocean so that we can finally go outside to collect crispy, sun-bleached laundry hanging on the backs of patio chairs. A dip in the pool, the water still warm from this unusually hot day is, nonetheless, refreshing, giving us a boost of energy to face an evening of chores that couldn’t be done in the heat of the day. Fresh clothes, tasty cold salad, and then we busy ourselves sweeping back the curtains to sweep cool night air through the house. It’s summer in the desert.
ReplyDeleteDelight in word.
DeleteWe went out for chinese this evening and ate entirely too much .. Now home toofies brushed and in jammies under the fan.
Our temperatures have been up and down but the weather has been mostly wet. Good for staying inside with a cup of tea and bad for trying to weed the area in the front of the house that needs it.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy the way you write and your photos. :)
speaking of wet :: 100 expected today with a light rain. ?! went outside at 8am to water the veggies and precious hydrangeas - and yes, smells like rain. sigh. {thank you, brenda}
DeleteYes, getting warmer here too. The air conditioner is on half the day. A simple life is the best life. And a cup of tea makes everything better, doesn't it? Even a cold glass of tea when it's hot out. ; )
ReplyDeleteStay cool, Sherry.

still toasty today but less so by a few degrees. the a/c hasn't yet come on and it's nearly 4pm! shutters closed and curtains drawn helps. :) cold water at my side.
