forever in our hearts.

2 days past Thanksgiving Day
our veterinarian visited the house
to help our precious pooch Evelyn
make her way 'cross the rainbow bridge.
with the hubs and i holding her close
while ugly crying, her pain and other
discomforts were relieved ..
though our hearts continue to ache,
we believe God brought her into our lives
and my life more specifically at such a right time.
we rescued her (golden retriever rescue) but in
reality ..... ? she rescued us.

evelyn anne {sugar pie}
... age 13.5 ...
with your sweet demeanor, pinky nose,
loppy-sided face, and cuddly ways,
reminding me to get up and stay up
and stay alive those first heart wrenching years,
thank you for the gift you were to our hearts.

arriving home from the nursing home yesterday i forgot to turn off the house alarm.. opened the door and that terrible scream of the alarm went off! my 1st thought was evelyn and how she'd be SO frightened. sigh.
